Classroom Etiquette 

(Rules and all of that stuff) 

 Student Vehicle Parking And Classroom Etiquette

  • All students (non-handicapped) are to park their vehicles at the south end only  of the adjacent parking structure roof; this lot is divided by a 2-way drive-through lane –– tenants & guests have priority and park on the north end ––   *(if you have a heavy load, consider use of personal baggage-toting aids)

  • Classes begin promptly at 7:00am (Mon-Fri);  last class ends at 10:00am

  • ·     There is no janitor –– all students are required to help classroom cleanup daily (including the trash cans, floors, tables, bookcases, etc.)

  • All students are required to initial the class attendance sheet at the beginning of each class –– students arriving late are to initial in the “late” column

  • Please fill the seats from front row first (from the middle out so that every student can be seated without distraction / spills)

  • Raise your hand if you have a question –– jokes or personal comments are never appropriate

  • Do not get up during class for coffee or to go to the restroom

  • Class breaks (at 10 minutes before each hour) do not allow sufficient time to leave the Logos building premises for any reason

  • Empty your personal mail folder daily –– the student mail bin will not hold several days’ information handouts and graded homework papers for all

  • Other people use our rooms at night –– please re-align the tables properly and replace the chairs neatly

  • Do not cross over nor sit on tables –– they will break under your weight

  • Library books are for use in SoM classrooms only –– it is not a “check-out” library

  • The coffee is purchased by student donation –– and also prepared by students

  • Ask the volunteer staff if you are unclear regarding assignments or procedures

  • Paying tenants are all around us in the building; their needs come before ours

2000 / 5000 Bible Series Questionnaires,  Pastor Chuck’s In-Class Notes,  And Weekly Church Sermon Notes

  • Three items are due every week on Monday:

  • (1)   2000 / 5000 Bible Series questionnaires [one “block” each week (approximately 5-6 hours of tapes) –– 15 “blocks” required each semester]

  • (2)   Comprehensive notes taken during Pastor Chuck’s “Calvary Chapel Distinctives” class

  • (3)   Comprehensive weekly church sermon notes (with church bulletin attached)

Chapel Etiquette

  • Chapel starts with all students in place promptly at 8:00am weekly –– do not hang outside or talk in the entry

  • NO food or drink is permitted the Chapel

Church Front Office / Prayer Phone Lines

  • Initial in your name slot on the weekly sign-in sheet (kept on a clipboard at the left-most phone station at the front counter)

  • Dress in keeping with the standards of the others you see behind the counters {nice shirt, long pants, shoes -- (NO T-shirts or tank-tops, NO shorts, NO sandals, NO hats of any kind, NO sunglasses}

  • If you need to change your hours or drop a time slot, see Randy Hunt in the SoM Staff Office

Serving In The Sanctuary

  • Observe the dress code of the pastors and ushers at the service you are serving

Monthly Ministry Report Form

  • Each month’s report (September/October through May) is due the first Monday of the following month (November 1st through June 1st) (8 monthly reports)

  • You may type up a more spacious form if needed, but follow the existing format

  • These reports are to be filled in as each separate ministry event is completed

  •       These reports are part of your permanent student record/transcript; use care in preparation

Standards For ALL Work Being Submitted for Grading

  • Type or word process all homework –– 3 lab computers are available to share

  • All homework is due at the beginning of that class –– place your work in the designated tray (“labeled”) for that class – located at the rear of the classroom

  • ·     DO NOT turn assignments in ahead of the due date (except “2000 / 5000 Bible Series” questionnaires) –– (it will immediately be returned “ungraded”)

  • To ensure accurate processing, grading, and final posting, ALL work / notes turned (including church sermon notes and attached bulletins) is to be identified as dictated in the format shown below –– non or mis-identified work is the student’s personal responsibility –– (it is recommended that each student keep a back-up copy of each assignment that he turns in)
