Tips for New Students

If you are on this page then we will probably see you this coming fall.  We look forward to meeting you in person!  The School of Ministry is designed to equip you for practical ministry - thus the emphasis is not purely academic.  However, as in real life ministry, you will be stretched and your time will be an issue.

Here are some recommendations of what you can do before you arrive in the fall.

Chuck Tracks

  • Get ahead on your Chuck tracks.  You can even begin emailing us the tracks you have finished - just follow the instructions.

English Grammar Review

  • Understanding how your own language works will better prepare you for the joy of Greek!

  • Please take advantage of these resources.  These are the Power point presentations (and texts) that we deal with during orientation week.  If you can understand these concepts in English then you will grasp them much faster in Greek.

  • It is recommended that you print out or view each text file while going through the Power point files.

Classroom Etiquette

  • Please read the Classroom Etiquette before coming to class.  We are here to fellowship, learn and have a good time - following a few guidelines helps promote that!

Recommended Prerequisites

We recommend (though we do not require), that you take an English class at a junior college as a refresher for the grammar that we will be discussing as well as for improving your writing skills.
